What matters more: a certification or a degree?What matters more: a certification or a degree?2021-11-27 21:13:01Mr_萧

Frankly speaking its a tricky question, because it depends on the situation and time that what u really need.
like if u are planning to go for a job or interview or to join any kind of renowned or ordinary institution than degree really matters .
And especially in case of job it also depends on which kind of job you are looking for or which company you want to join ,as if the company wants an employee who should be knowledgeable then that company will not look at your degrees at all, a certification will be enough for them.
Second scenario is that if you want to start your own business or you want to work for your family business then in that case certification can be enough as long as you have the knowledge and idea.
Honestly speaking that in most cases degree is required but if you have potential as well as good amount of knowledge then certificates on any course can do the same magic what degrees does.
At last what really matters is your KNOWLEDGE and SELF BELIEF.
THANKS FOR ASKING!!!

What matters more the semester GPA or the cumulative GPA in college?

What matters more the semester GPA or the cumulative GPA in college?2021-06-21 08:46:19Mr_伏

As a rule, admission is more interested in cumulative GPA; however, semester GPA is relevant in that they like to see an upward trend — improvement over time — not the reverse. For example, it may well be that freshman year GPA is lower than junior year, which arguably, is the most important because it’s the last full year that a college or university sees before making an admission decision (e.g., you apply during your senior year).

Is it true that your degree matters more than your content and teaching skills at Unacademy?

Is it true that your degree matters more than your content and teaching skills at Unacademy?2021-07-06 14:37:21Mr_澹台

Teaching is all about making a hard topic easier through your teaching skills. A person may have high educated Degree or vast of experience but he fails to express fully. But it can be possible that a simple guy is good in expression.

Having Knowledge and teaching skills are different as per my experience. But same time its important that for teaching a particular topic a teacher must have its correct knowledge as “Being a teacher you influence lots of student’s life”.

Since unacademy is a platform where basically courses are launched related to competitive exam so if educator who have been involved with that particular exam whether success full or failure (as both experience helps newcomers) is more beneficial than a person who just holds a degree related to that particular subject.

Moreover, GOI has put mostly exam qualification just graduation so as per me anyone who is graduated and have experience of exam he is teaching is far better as you don’t need to do Phd.

At last that person will provide you correct content with focus study strategy more accurately .

I hope I satisfied you.

I would say a good degree from a good college.

Now a days the recuirters often go by the tag of the college i.e they often give more priority to recuirt students from well known colleges.

So its always better to graduate from a well known college at the same time having a degree in a good field,it will fetch you more.

Your no-frills answer is that cumulative GPA matters more. However, there are certain situations in which your semester GPA could be even more important than your cumulative GPA. At my alma mater, CMU, there was a policy that you needed to maintain above a 2.5 cumulative GPA, and could not be below a 2.0 semester GPA for two consecutive semesters. The first one would put you on academic probation, and the second would get you kicked out.

Thus, you can imagine a scenario in which you are a perfect 4.0 student, but then you have a family emergency or you get hit by a bus, which affects your performance for a semester, say you get a 1.0. Then, your next semester GPA will be extremely important, because even though your cumulative GPA is still 3.X, well above the threshold, you could still get kicked out of school if you get < 2.0 in the following semester.

However, school is not like prison, and if something like this happened, I’m sure the advisors have a heart and can make exceptions due to these circumstances.

The degree ensured I got a good job and was earning well straight away. Education, as in life experience, increased understanding, knowledge and confidence in one's own career. Summerise, a degree gets you in the door and continuous leaning ensures you keep the job.
