There are no such defined criteria, but it is recommended to get a GPA equivalent to 75% . That increases your chances .However if you don't have that much percentage , don't fret.

Write GRE and fetch a good score! And good score in language courses might slightly influence your chances too.

Try to write a good SOP and get good LOR from professors !

Alles Gute!

A CGPA of more than 6.5/10 should get you in most of the decent colleges.

However, the admission process not only depends on your CGPA. They also look at your IELTS score, GRE/GMAT (if required), your certificates of any work experience or extra curricular activities while making a decision on your eligibility.

Once they know you are eligible, they decide on the admission through interview/online test/ case study (varies from college to college).

Thanks for asking:

What is the required CGPA to get a scholarship in the top 10 universities in the world for an MS?

I believe that financial aid for a masters degree program is not as freely available to students as the undergraduate applicant. That’s because most masters programs have no legislated maximum tuition to be charged. The amount of scholarships at the graduate level is also less.

In regards to your question. The qualification for a “scholarship” at the graduate level is not likely to be CGPA alone. It will likely be the availability of funding for that institution and the possibility of research or teaching that you can perform (teaching and research assistantships). There are some institutions that may have specific scholarships depend affiliation with a certain population group, have submitted an essay and is department-specific.

In summary, I do not believe that there is a minimum or optimal CGPA for a graduate degree scholarship.

If you want to go and learn the language out there then you need to score atleast 65% to get through a German language institute. But if you are aiming for applying directly to the university for that you should have a good percentage of atleast 75 and above.

Around 8-8.5+ for courses without tuition fee and around 6.5-7+ for courses with tuition fee. It's a big advantage for students from Tier3-Tier 4 colleges because its very easy to score a 8.5–9 GPA. At the same time, people from Tier-1 universities with a GPA in the range of 7–8 are at a big disadvantage. No matter how good your overall profile might be, expect nothing other than a rejection.
